There are no messages availabe to my account. How do I get them?

Simply stated, you probably don't get any messages.

I'm very reluctant to enable that feature for the general public, as it would be easily abused - so for now, messages are available only to people I know.

At some future date, when I can figure out a way to discourage abuse, I may make that available - but until then, consider it a feature that's been "stubbed" but isn't yet available.

How do I set up a death notice message?

In your account menu, deth notices are listed in the "Message Center." If messages have been enabled, there should be one or more death notices you can compose (if there aren't any, see above).

When a message is initially created for you, it has a default send date of 999 days since last login (which, for all intents and purposes, is "never" because it will expire after a year anyway). Change that value to the desired delay, compose the message, and click "submit." You can re-edit the message at any time, changing the delay interval, recipients, subject, or contents.

Note that it is posible, but highly inadvisable, to set a message to send in as little as one day since last login. The ssytem is set to send you a login reminder, and it is unwise to set a message to send before then (as it will go out before you get the first reminder to log in and prevent it from being sent).
